Sadaik chests were used in monasteries to preserve sacred sutras and as relic caskets. This panel displays an image of the Chulamani Stupa. According to Buddhist texts, the Stupa is a reliquary containing containing both hair and a tooth of Lord Buddha. When Prince Siddhartha cut off his long hair, to mark his renunciation, Indra retrieved it and enshrined it in the Chulamani Stupa.
