Seated figure in lotus posture with attributes of Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. Removable from its intricately carved, canopied, shrine enclosure. The cavity at the back of the sculpture -a consecratory chamber- holds past relics wrapped in cloth. Remnants of pigment and gilding.
