A remarkably fine women’s skirt or “lawo redo” from the Lio people of Flores Island. Composed of “stars” that take on their own anthropomorphic life as the designs on this textile creates for the eye an array of delightful overlapping visual puzzles. The skirt’s center panel signifies that it was once worn by an important woman from a dominant clan. Superb condition and natural color.
